TV is GOD

Artist's statement:

I thought for a long time about how to best express my feelings about life, technology, art, and fear. I wanted to say in a new way what I saw happening in the world; how technology can be used to create great beauty. In my piece “TV IS GOD” I attempt to communicate that god is being replaced by TV. We live in a new world of technology and it will replace us. As we forget to serve he who made us now, so shall our creation forget to serve us.  The hands represent your connection to other people and your god, communication and creation. It is designed in low poly to speak directly to those like me who were raised on TV and video games, showing that there is still beauty in what is coming but that the technology around us will digest and change everything that we filter through it. The TV represents the distraction of technology - how intrusive it can be to the life you would have without it. The TV is placed right between the fingers to symbolize how close you can be to a connection with others. If you can decide that no digital copy of yourself represents you, only then can you start to live.
